A brief guide to Sales Support services including costs  

Many of us grew up in a world of print advertisements, classifieds in classic car mags, Exchange & Mart and Owner's Club magazines where we knew the car of our dreams was waiting to be found. Nowadays most motoring magazines have a minimal classified advertising, and no one wants to wait a month to before offering their car or motorcycle for sale. Put a specific car search into Google and you’ll be greeted by dozens of examples for sale from around the globe, so presenting your car to the most relevant audience has never been more important.  Give yourself an advantage with enticing photographs and well written, concise and informative text. Then perhaps add well targeted, cost effective online advertising to maximise your chance of a sale.    

Designed for those who need help getting good, quality high resolution photographs that grab the attention of potential buyers, but who may then wish to advertise their car themselves.

·         Comprehensive photography intended to allow potential buyers to view the car online. Includes external shots to attract attention of potential buyers, plus further images of the interior, exterior detail, wheels, boot, engine bay and underside.

·         Photographs of all important documents, invoices and history, with Seller’s details and private names and addresses edited out. We usually end up with approximately 100-130 images depending on the type of car and size of the history file. All images are then edited in Photoshop to remove any background detail that may detract from the image, and to enhance colour or light where necessary.

The images are usually sent by WeTransfer.com so you can download and save them for use in advertisements and online listings. There is no charge for using WeTransfer; you receive an email with a link to WeTransfer, which will allow you to download all the images into a folder of your choice on your PC, iPad, laptop or tablet. We wouldn’t recommend downloading to a mobile phone as the files are quite large! Alternatively they can be supplied on a USB memory stick for a small extra charge.   

LEVEL 2 – Photography and Description 

To accompany the photographs we will write a comprehensive description that will cover the history and appeal of the car, exterior in detail, the interior, the mechanical condition and any major work completed. For transparency it will touch on work needed or areas that might require attention. Obviously the objective is to excite the potential buyer, but also to fully inform in order to avoid any post sale disappointment.   The description will usually be between 800 - 1200 words, and will be supplied in Word .docx format by email attachment or accompanying the images via WeTransfer. The description will be fully editable so you can make changes or corrections and add any detail that you feel may help to sell.

Choosing the best route to market can be tricky as cars appeal to a variety of buyers of all ages and abilities. Finding the right platform to reach your market can be complicated, with a variety of advertising options online and in print.

·         We can place advertisements online (or in print) to get your car in front of the right audience to maximise your chance of a quick sale at the best possible price. Online advertisements usually last for one month for an upfront cost of £30-£90 depending on reach. Some websites allow free advertisements for a short period.

·         Upload photographs, description (appropriately edited for format). The contact details will be yours, so you will receive any enquiries and request for further images and information by email or telephone. You can then arrange for viewings at a convenient time and negotiate sale price.

Includes Level 1 Photography, Level 2 Description, Level 3 Advertising plus we will be the online and phone contact for your advertising and deal with the enquiries.

·         We include our details as the point of contact for your online/print listing, deal with all enquiries and filter the enquiries. We will answer any queries and send out further photographs on request.

·        We act as an intermediary between you and the prospective buyer to arrange mutually convenient dates and times for viewings.  We can be present at viewings if necessary and if requested will happily deal with sale negotiations. Naturally if a deal is reached it will be with your agreement.

·         You may choose to take prospective purchasers on a short demonstration drive, or allow them to drive your car with proof of relevant insurance. We do not conduct or accompany test drives.

Level 1 – Photography only, images supplied by WeTransfer or on a USB stick  - £195.

Level 2 - Photography and full written description  - £350.

Level 3 - Photography, description and marketing  - £400 plus £30/hour, plus advertising at cost, enquiries come to you.

Level 4 – Photography, description, marketing and dealing with enquiries and negotiations - £550 + 2.5% of final sale price (capped at max £5,000), plus £30/hour.

Mileage invoiced at 50p/mile for all Levels.
